The problem

We had a full mortgage application for a standard buy to let property. It went to valuation, and the survey revealed the property had a low level of private ownership and returned a zero valuation.

The solution

A quick call to the surveyor confirmed there was an active open market from buy to let investors, and nothing would prevent the sale to a residential customer. We moved the application onto our Property Plus product which is designed for properties that don’t meet our standard property criteria, being above or adjacent to all types of commercial, or located in an investor lead development or area.
