Later Life Lending Event 2016
Time and date:
22 November 2016
Location: Gibson Hall, 13 Bishopsgate, London EC2N 3BA
Organiser: Mortgage Solutions
Website: Click here
The programme will be designed to stimulate debate on the following key themes:
- Future demographics: how the shape of the UK population is set to change over the next five, 10, 20 years, how peoples’ long-term financial needs evolve and how the sector must develop to anticipate those needs.
- Here and now: what products are, and should be available for older borrowers from existing mainstream and specialist lenders.
- How do we encourage more lenders into the later life lending sector? What are the issues holding back product innovation? Understanding the lending policy and funding constraints.
- How do the mainstream market and Equity Release sector interact and work together to develop a product and advice map for the older borrower.
- What does an ‘at retirement’ adviser look like (permissions, qualifications, wider knowledge of benefits, pensions, wills and long term care and their referral network). How will advisers have to adapt?
- With the FCA due to release its ‘ageing population and financial services’ paper in 2017, what more should the regulator be doing to facilitate the right framework to drive appropriate consumer outcomes.
- What do we do with the interest only conundrum? How big a problem is it and how should it be dealt with.
