Gerald Ratner to open 2016 Finance Professional Show
17 October 2016
Fourth annual FP Show keynote speaker Gerald Ratner to open proceedings
Complimentary Breakfast Networking taking place in the new Education Hub from 9.30-10.30am
90 exhibitors confirmed for 9th November at Olympia Central
London’s largest broker-facing trade show is delighted to confirm Gerald Ratner – a British household name associated with one of the business world’s greatest falls from grace – as its very special guest speaker.
The all-new Education Hub will host a complimentary Breakfast Networking session from 9.30am with Gerald opening the show at 10.30am in the Shawbrook Bank Conference Theatre.
The former CEO of the family jewellery chain Ratners, whose profits hit £120m in 1990, Gerald’s now infamous gaffe disparaging the company's products resulted in him losing everything.
A true comeback king, Gerald’s inspirational rags to riches story is a prime example of the value of branding and a sage lesson in picking oneself up after a disaster of very public proportions.
Straight after Gerald’s address, the FP Show will host the National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB) Annual General Meeting.
The show is free to attend and visitors should register via The Finance Professional Show website.
Attendees can expect a wide variety of exhibitors on 9th November, including:
- High street banks
- Commercial finance providers
- Second charge mortgage lenders
- Bridging and short-term finance providers
- Conveyancing firms
- Unsecured loan specialists
- Development finance lenders
- Asset finance and leasing providers
- Mortgage clubs
Confirmed sponsors include ezbob, Shawbrook Bank, Funding Circle, Fortwell Capital, Octopus Property, Roma Finance, Kuflink Bridging and Just Cash Flow PLC.
Here’s what some of our exhibitors had to say about the 2015 event:
"You only have to look around to see every major lender is here and pretty much every major broker is here, either with a stand or seeing other lenders that are here... It's the one that people want to be at. It's the Oscars of the trade shows in our industry." D'mitri Zaprzala, head of sales at Octopus Property
"Not only did we meet existing introducers, but we also made what appears to be extremely useful introductions with several brokers discussing specific cases they wish to place with us." Neil Molyneux, head of sales and marketing at Masthaven Finance
"We felt it was really well organised and the quality of attendance was high, so we would recommend the event to others." Laura Carr, underwriter at Hope Capital
"[We're] very confident that we can do substantial business from the leads generated specifically from the show." Rob Jupp, chief executive officer at Brightstar Financial
"The visitors to our stand were serious people looking to do business and this was reflected in the quality of the discussions." Regentsmead
"The show was the best we've attended. A real hall full of, importantly, the right exhibitors, great seminars and educational options." Stephen Burns, co-founder of Adapt Finance
