Society’s art of fundraising for Rossendale...

27 March 2019

Leek United has provided a showcase for the artistic talents of adults with learning disabilities in Cheshire…

Works by tenants from The Rossendale Trust* are being displayed at the Society’s branch in Chestergate, Macclesfield.

And all proceeds from sales of the paintings and crafts will help to fund new materials, to enable the artists to continue with their creativity.

“We first held a small exhibition of artworks by Rossendale tenants in the branch last summer,” said Branch Manager Veronica McNeil.

“There were so many positive comments from customers – who also bought a number of the pictures on display – that we decided to continue to showcase the tenants’ work this year.”

Artworks on display in Leek United’s Macclesfield Branch’s front office include framed paintings and drawings, and numerous craft items.

Karl Downing, Communications & Marketing Manager at The Rossendale Trust, said: “Leek United is a fantastic supporter of the Trust, and this is a great example of how local businesses can make a difference in their communities, by supporting our charity.”
