Advisers remaining calm in face of pandemic says Tenet

23 April 2020

Tenet reports that its members are remaining calm and pragmatic in the face of the pandemic and are focused on supporting their clients, business diversification and planning for what needs to be done when restrictions are lifted.

In the current period of remote working, Tenet has been mindful of the importance of personal contact with members, meeting virtually with its adviser focus groups and launching a series of live video conferences with its senior leadership team, to help understand and support them through the coronavirus challenges.

Tenet chief executive, Mark Scanlon, comments:

“What we have found is a very considered and calm group of people, who are in fairly good spirits, despite the real difficulties that we all face. This is a situation that advisers have planned for and the biggest take away for me is that their clients are remaining calm, which is a huge credit to all the work our members have been doing over the last number of years to professionally manage their clients’ affairs. At the end of this, I think the role that an adviser or broker plays is going to be far better understood and appreciated. I think the FCA should be very pleased with what our industry has, and is, able to deliver.”

To support its membership, Tenet quickly launched a COVID-19 extranet area in mid March and moved its entire events programme online, with nearly 1,000 advisers now registered for the interactive sessions. It has also introduced a series of regular video conferences with its senior leadership team and is shortly about to launch a Tenet member support line, allowing members to speak to a professional counsellor or information specialist in relation to both physical and mental wellbeing.”
