Vida Homeloans hires Gibbons as director of marketing
02 July 2021
Vida Homeloans has hired Iain Gibbons as director of marketing as the specialist lender overhauls several senior posts.
Veteran Gibbons will report to chief executive Anth Mooney when he joins in the autumn from financial consultant Wesleyan, where he is group marketing director.
Gibbons has over 25 years of experience in financial marketing including commercial director at Virgin Money and as chief marketing officer at Thomas Cook Money.
Gibbons replaces Nick Allen who had worked for Vida since it was founded in 2015.
Vida chief executive Anth Mooney says: “As a lending specialist, Vida remains a relatively young company and we are at an important and exciting time in the development of the business.
“Iain’s appointment is key to our growth strategy and will help us to deliver on our business plans by implementing effective and creative marketing campaigns
The appointment comes after it emerged yesterday (1 July), that Ian Giles, a previous director of marketing at the firm, and more recently a marketing consultant for the business, left the group he joined when it was founded.
His departure follows Louisa Sedgwick who left at the end of March to join Tandem Bank in October.
Sedgwick was replaced as head of mortgage distribution by Richard Tugwell.
Giles has not outlined his plans, but is now listed on LinkedIn as an independent marketing consultant, as he was before working for Vida.
The lender also says it has appointed chief of staff Anna Zykova to its management board, adding that she has “recently broadened her role to take on responsibility for PR and corporate communications”.
