Following this morning’s release of the HMRC monthly Following this morning’s release of the HMRC monthly property transaction figures, I have a comment from Simon Webb from mortgage lender LiveMore, which lenders to people aged 50-90+.
Simon Webb, managing director of capital markets and finance at LiveMore, said: “Now that the mortgage rates have settled somewhat from highs in the last quarter of 2022, we are gradually seeing home buyers returning to the market.
“Although the March housing transactions figures are lower than this time last year, they take us back to pre-Covid levels and there are signs of more optimism. Estate agents are reporting both buyers and sellers slowly returning so more property for sale is on their books.”
