Riona Mulherin, Director of Marketing & Operations at Paradigm, commented:

“The MHFA carried out a study of 1,000 people recently and found that 83% of them had considered changing jobs within the finance sector due to mental health issues. That is a considerable number in anyone’s book, and we wanted this podcast to focus on a number of areas which might be relevant to financial services’ employees and employers, especially in the context of Mental Health Awareness Week, which is taking place right now.

“Mental health provision and support is a major, ongoing workstream for Paradigm, not just in terms of our own employees, but also in terms of the support and resource we can offer to firms in order to help them find their path in a very tricky area, and to be able to offer everything their employees need. It’s a vitally important topic and we hope you’ll be able to listen to this podcast to find out why, and to learn more about what can be done.

“Paradigm are proud members of the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter and are committed to opening up conversations and increasing awareness around mental health and wellbeing within the industry, which can often be a source of pressure and stress for those within it.”

AimieJo Shutt, National Key Account Manager at Santander UK, said:

“Our industry is as challenging as it is resilient. That resilience wouldn’t stand a chance without the people within. We all need to work together to create a culture that is open, understanding and allows mental health to play as important a role as physical health, so I was utterly delighted to have the opportunity to join forces with Paradigm to discuss this topic in what I hope is an enjoyable and educational listen for all.”
